Can you detect music made with Udio?
Same honest answer as for any other named generator: not by name. This page focuses on the workflow that defeats detectors most reliably — generation followed by real production work.

The short answer
Our detector reports whether a recording shows characteristics associated with generated audio. It does not perform generator attribution, so it will never tell you that a track came from Udio. See the parallel discussion of attribution for why that claim needs a per-generator evaluation we have not run.
The workflow that breaks detection
A raw export dropped straight onto a platform is the easiest case for any detector. That is increasingly not what happens. A common workflow now looks like this:
- Generate several candidate sections
- Edit and rearrange them in a DAW
- Layer human-played or sampled elements over the top
- Apply real mixing: EQ, compression, saturation, spatial processing
- Master to a target loudness
- Encode for distribution
Steps two and three destroy the cross-section uniformity that is our strongest signal. Steps four to six flatten the micro-dynamic and spectral evidence. The result is a track that is genuinely part-generated and effectively undetectable by acoustic means — and the honest output for it is inconclusive.
Hybrid tracks deserve a hybrid answer
A binary label is the wrong shape for a track where a person wrote the arrangement, played the guitar and generated the pad layer. Our tool responds to that situation by reporting segment-level disagreement and declining a verdict, which is more useful than a confident number that hides the ambiguity.
What actually settles it
- Project files, stems and dated drafts from the creator
- Content Credentials or other provenance metadata attached to the file
- Distributor and platform AI-disclosure records
- A direct, good-faith conversation with the artist
In practice, disclosure norms and provenance standards will resolve this question long before detectors do. Detection is a stopgap for the period in which those norms are still forming.
Try it, with realistic expectations
Run the track through the free AI music detector, then read the accuracy page before drawing any conclusion from what you see.
